A TREC competition consists of three parts, the POR, the MA and the PTV.
POR
The competition starts with the POR, Parcours d’Orientation et de Regularité. This is an orientation trip with prescribed speeds.
MA
The next part of the competition, the MA or Maîtrise des Allures. The MA is a gait control test. It tests whether the rider has control over the horse’s gaits.
PTV
As the last part of the TREC you drive the PTV, or the Parcours and Terrain Varié. This is an agility course.
